Meniscal Ganglion Cysts without Accompanying Meniscal Tears: A Report of 2 Cases
نویسندگان
چکیده
We report 2 cases of meniscal ganglion not associated with meniscal injury. The incidence of meniscal ganglion is reported to range from 1.4% to 3% among patients who have some injuries of the knee joint and underwent diagnostic tests or treatments including arthroscopy. Cases of meniscal ganglion not associated with meniscal injury as reported here are extremely rare. Treatment by partial meniscectomy including resection of the ganglion generally achieves good outcome.

Unusual Presentation of Synovial Sarcoma as Meniscal Cyst: A Case Report
Periarticular cyst and cystic soft tissue lesion around the knee are common. Synovial sarcoma is a rare and malignant soft tissue tumor accounting for approximately 5% of soft tissue sarcoma. A case is presented where a lesion adjacent to the joint line of the knee was diagnosed clinically and on imaging as a meniscal cyst. MRI signal was homogenous and no concomitant meniscal tears were seen...
متن کاملMeniscal Roots: Current Concepts Review
Meniscal root tears are defined as radial tears located within 1 cm from the meniscal attachment or a bony rootavulsion. This injury is biomechanically comparable to a total meniscectomy, leading to compromised hoop stressesresulting in decreased tibiofemoral contact area and increased contact pressures in the involved compartment. These changes are detrimental to the articular cartilage and ult...
متن کاملCysts of the medial meniscus. Arthroscopic diagnosis and management.
We report the clinical and arthroscopic findings in 20 cases of medial meniscal cyst with a mean follow-up of 20 months. These were studied prospectively from a series of 7435 knee arthroscopies in which there were 1246 stable non-arthritic knees with medial meniscal tears. The diagnosis on referral was incorrect in seven, and incomplete in seven. There was coexistent meniscal injury in 17 (85%...

The purpose of this study was to evaluate clinical outcome, we performed a retro-spective review of 35 lateral meniscal cysts that were treated arthroscopically at our institution which was a retrospective study. From a series of 1000 knee arthroscopies, 41 patients who had lateral meniscal cysts were selected. 2 of the 35 patients were lost to follow-up and 4 patients had associated other path...

AIM The aim of this study was to assess whether significant meniscal extrusion of more than 3 mm or of even lesser degrees of extrusion could be considered significant. We also aimed to determine the morphology of tears that are most likely to be associated with significant extrusion. Study design and material. The study was done retrospectively on a group of 202 patients (157 males and 45 fema...
